Preconstruct have been working with ArthurCox, a Bristol based animation and production company, who have been awarded funding to make a digital archive project called ‘A Time Traveller’s Guide to Bristol’. The archive project is funded by the Regional Investment Fund England (RIFE) through the UK Film Council’s Digital Film Archive Fund via South West Screen. It has also secured funding from Arts Council England.
The project will result in six short films based on these six locations within Bristol. Each film will use archive film, photo and audio to create a location-specific film covering the past 100 years, whilst also taking a look into the imagined future for these spaces.
The iPhone app was launched alongside previews of the TTG website and films at Bristol’s City Museum and Art Gallery this evening. The team at ArthurCox are homing in on the launch of the website in the coming weeks – you can see the finished site including our animated future vision pieces here.
