We supported joint venture Costain/Vinci to secure the approximately £1bn contract to build the proposed M4 corridor around Newport.
The M4 corridor and the main route between Magor and Castleton is the most heavily trafficked section of road in Wales – with over 100,000 vehicles travelling on it every day and drivers frequently experiencing major delays.
The Welsh Government is proposing a new section of motorway to the south of Newport and a dramatic new icon – the Usk River Bridge. This scheme would cost around a billion pounds.
We collaborated with joint venture (JV) Costain/Vinci on their Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) bid for the construction work. We learned the project inside out and helped them craft a story-led presentation featuring: dynamic CGI, animated diagrams, immersive photography, and a cinematic ending. The Costain/Vinci JV was successful in winning the bid.

Following on from the JV’s successful bid, we have been collaborating with Costain and the Welsh Government on their public engagement communication material.
The centre piece of these communication assets is our fun and informative animation giving a high-level overview of the project...

We've also produced many other communication assets to engage the public including; an iPad App; 50” interactive touch screen presentation; printed leaflets; before and after panoramic photomontages; an interactive document library; and a dual language 30 second radio ad.
Here are some of the assets being used at a public exhibition...
