It’s hard not to cringe when hearing the time-worn opening line, uttered by judges of competitions both great and small. Use a small aperture to achieve a good depth of field The smaller the aperture the greater the sharpness throughout the image from foreground to background. This can be done by using the aperture priority setting on your camera or selecting landscape setting if your camera is automatic. 2.
