Planning permission has been granted for The Blackstone Group’s new residential and office development at Colonial Drive, Ealing.
The schemes adjacency to Gunnersbury Triangle, a unique urban nature reserve, managed by the London Wildlife Trust, made the development a contentious issue for many local people.
We collaborated with London architects Flanagan Lawrence to provide verified views - AVR 1s and AVR 3s - from key viewpoints in the reserve and adjacent streets.
Through several phases of consultation, our images helped communicate the visual impact of the scheme accurately to Ealing Council and the public. The images were based on photographs taken during various seasons, to demonstrate how the views would look with varying levels of foliage cover. A key challenge was maintaining photo-montage accuracy through dense layers of vegetation.
Despite the controversy, our verified views allowed stakeholders to make informed decisions about the reality of the visual impact of the scheme.
